The site is already closed due to Bacterial Kidney Disease (BKD).

Suspected infectious salmon anemia (ISA) has been reported at Lerøy Midt’s Langskjæra facility in Frøya municipality, Trøndelag, Norway.

The site “Langskjæra” is operated as a single unit for infectious disease together with the location “Langskjæra II”. This means that both locations are covered by the suspicion.

Lerøy Midt notified the Norwegian Food Safety Authority on February 21, following PCR test results, according to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority

The authority plans an inspection for further samples.

Restrictions, including a movement ban of fish and related products, have been imposed. If ILA is confirmed, authorities may order the site’s clearance.
