Kjerstad is to begin his new role on April 1.

Kjetil Angell Kjerstad has been named the new CEO of Norway-based seafood analysis firm Kontali.

Kjerstad, currently serving as Head of Business Development and Strategy B2C at Telia Norway, has a distinguished career that includes executive roles at Google, Microsoft Norway, and Telenor.

His appointment is a strategic move for Kontali, which is entering a scale-up phase following a digital transformation under the majority ownership of Alytic since 2020.

Commenting on the appointment, Espen Zachariassen, Chairman of the Board of Kontali and CEO of Alytic, highlighted Kjerstad’s business acumen.

“Kjerstad knows how to commercialize technology in combination with content. He will be responsible for implementing a strategy to turn Kontali into the leading provider of data and insights for the global seafood market,” said Zachariassen. “By adding more technological and commercial competence to the world-leading seafood expertise already present in the company, the goal is to triple Kontali revenues within three years.”
