In its initial production phase, Gigante Salmon is targeting a production yield of 3,000 metric tons

Land-based salmon farming pioneer, Gigante Salmon, announced a significant operational milestone with the successful electrification of its Rodoy facility.

In a statement on LinkedIn, the firm highlighted the activation of the 690/400V power system, a critical phase in the project’s progression.

The achievement marks a pivotal step towards the commencement of the facility’s operational testing and overall functioning.

“This means that the work of putting voltage on the process equipment starts now, and we can start testing and further running the plant! – Guess we’re excited!,” wrote the company.

In its initial production phase, Gigante Salmon is targeting a production yield of 3,000 metric tons. By 2027, the company aspires to ramp up its production tenfold to reach 20,000 metric tons.

In addition to its Rodoy site Gigante also owns a facility on Feoya island in Gildeskal municipality.
