Scottish salmon farmer Loch Duart increased harvest volumes by 45% in its 2025/26 financial year and is targeting further growth after receiving fresh shareholder support.

The company harvested 8,142 tonnes GWT in the year ended 31 March 2026, up from 5,620 tonnes a year earlier, and said biomass levels and fish health support indicative harvest volumes of around 11,000 tonnes GWT in FY2026/27.

Loch Duart reported a fourth-quarter operating loss of £0.96 million (€1.11 million), compared with a loss of £3.57 million (€4.14 million) a year earlier. Results were supported by a £1.73 million (€2.01 million) biomass insurance settlement related to a mortality event reported in the previous quarter.

The company said salmon prices were 15% lower for the full year as higher global supply weighed on the market, although it continued to achieve a premium of around 30% to its reference market price.

During the quarter, Loch Duart received £8.3 million (€9.63 million) of new equity from its sole shareholder. Combined with £7.5 million (€8.70 million) injected earlier in the financial year, shareholder support totalled £15.8 million (€18.33 million) during the period.

Loch Duart is one of Scotland’s smaller salmon producers and is majority-owned by US investment firm Vision Ridge Partners. The company is not publicly listed, but publishes quarterly financial reports under the terms of its NOK 640 million bond listed in the Norwegian debt market.
