Butenunbinnen reports that Bremerhaven, a city at the North German seaport of Bremen, is experiencing a pick up in COVID cases.

A major outbreak was recorded at the Parlevliet & Van der Plas (PP)-owned Deutsche See facility. So far, 26 people have tested positive for the virus. And all employees have to be checked with a quick test before each shift start as a precautionary measure now.

Last year, SalmonBusiness reported that salmon accounts for 35 per-cent of Deutsche See’s production, with an average of 11,000 tonnes per year. PP buys this salmon mainly from Norwegian farms and a small amount in the Faroe Islands, plus wild salmon from Alaska, but didn’t want to reveal its resources at the time.
