The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) has announced the appointment of Mike Kocsis as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Kocsis, who joined GSA in 2022 as Chief Systems Officer, was later promoted to Chief Strategy Officer in August 2023.

In a statement, Kocsis expressed enthusiasm about continuing to promote responsible seafood practices globally alongside GSA’s partners.

“GSA is proud to engage with many of the world’s leading aquaculture and wild-caught seafood producers, retailers, foodservice operators, and NGOs, and I look forward to closer collaboration as we advance our shared vision,” said Kocsis.

“This work isn’t possible without the incredible team at GSA. Their commitment to our mission and dedication to continuous improvement inspires me daily. It’s an honor to serve this team and lead GSA into the future.”

Kocsis brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with over 20 years in the seafood industry. His professional background includes significant positions at prominent seafood companies such as High Liner Foods, King & Prince Seafood, and Gorton’s Seafood.

Kocsis’s appointment as CEO is seen as a strategic move for GSA as the organization seeks to deepen its commitment to sustainability and responsible seafood practices.
