Arctic Fish Holding AS has announced the appointment of Daníel Jakobsson as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 2025.
Jakobsson succeeds Stein Ove Tveiten, who will remain with the company in an advisory role until June 2025 to assist with the leadership transition.
Jakobsson has served as Chief Business Development Officer at Arctic Fish since January 2021. Prior to joining the company, he held several leadership roles including Mayor of Ísafjarðarbær and various management positions at Landsbankinn and Sparisjóður Norðlendinga.
Arctic Fish said Jakobsson’s appointment comes at a critical time as the company enters its next growth phase. His focus will be on strengthening operational excellence, advancing sustainability initiatives, and maintaining employee welfare, all of which are key strategic pillars for the company.
Arctic Fish is a leading salmon farming company in Iceland, operating with a maximum allowed biomass (MAB) production capacity of 29,800 tonnes across 10 farming sites in the Westfjords. The company’s vertically integrated operations cover hatching, smolt production, grow-out, and harvesting, with an emphasis on sustainable aquaculture practices.
The leadership change is intended to support Arctic Fish’s expansion strategy as the early-stage Icelandic salmon farming industry continues to develop.
