Måsøval has had its bid to acquire Mowi’s Ulvan facility in Hitra Municipality accepted.

The world’s largest salmon producer Mowi is selling its processing plant in Ulvan, Norway, to Norwegian salmon farmer Masoval, with the transition expected to be completed in early April, Masoval announced in a stock exchange filing on Thursday.

The Frøya-based salmon producer plans to continue operating the plant to boost the harvest capacity within the Måsøval group.

The facility was put on the market in September 2023, with the sale being prompted by the completion of Mowi’s new 100,000 metric ton capacity processing site on Jøsnøya.

The property spans a total area of 54,474 square meters, zoned for industrial use, with the current buildings occupying approximately 7,500 square meters of gross area.

The purchase price has not been disclosed by Måsøval.
