Mowi refreshes salmon line-up at £26 billion turnover UK supermarket

Mowi range of value-added salmon items has been refreshed. 

The world’s largest salmon farmer Mowi has expanded its product line at UK retailer Asda with the introduction of two new salmon products and the reintroduction of a popular item.

The new products, Bistro Scottish Salmon with Lemon & Herb Butter and Ready to Eat BBQ Scottish Salmon Fillets, along with the returning Bistro Salmon Pastries, are now available both in-store and online, according to a press release from the company on Friday.

Additionally, a four-pack of Mowi Fresh Scottish Salmon Fillets will be available for a limited period at the UK’s largest supermarket, Tesco, starting April 17th.

Mowi first launched its UK product range at supermarkets in 2021, following successful launches in Poland and France as well as in the USA.

The bistro range, launched in 2023, is aimed consumers hit by the cost-of-living crisis.

As many as 50 percent of UK consumers dine out less than before inflation and energy costs hit the country, according to market research from Mowi when the range was first introduced.

Asda has more than 600 stores across the UK with a revenue of £25.6 billion for 2023.
