Mowi sells Dunkerque plant to Sofipêche

Mowi announces sale of Dunkerque plant to Sofipêche.

On Monday, Norwegian seafood giant Mowi announced in a press release the sale of its French operation in Dunkerque – formerly known as Appéti’Marine – to Sofipêche.

Sofipêche is well-established in the north of France with fishery and processing activities operating from Boulogne-sur-Mer.

The statement says that Mowi will continue to be a main supplier of salmon to  Dunkerque plant which specialises in the production of frozen salmon and seafood specialities.

Fabrice Barreau, Managing Director of Mowi Western Europe, said: “We are convinced that the Dunkerque plant and their employees are in very good hands with Sofipêche and look forward to continue our relationship as an important salmon supplier.”

The statement continues, ‘after the sale of the Dunkerque plant, Mowi will focus their production activities in France on the fresh and smoked market segments, with its specialised production units Mowi Boulogne (fresh) and Mowi Bretagne (smoked) plants.’
