Mowi highlights new products, packaging at Seafood Expo North America

Mowi USA is preparing to introduce a new packaging design across its consumer-facing brands, as the salmon producer looks to strengthen its position in branded retail products.

The update will cover the MOWI, Ducktrap and Marine Harvest by Mowi ranges, with rollout scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through 2027.

The company said the redesign is intended to refresh brand identity and improve shelf visibility across fresh, smoked and frozen salmon categories. Ducktrap’s packaging will be among the first to transition under the programme.

The move forms part of Mowi’s broader push into value-added and branded products, particularly in the US market.

Mowi has increasingly focused on branded offerings alongside its core farming operations as it seeks to capture higher margins and reduce exposure to commodity price cycles.

Packaging has become a growing area of investment across the seafood sector, as producers look to differentiate products in a competitive retail environment and respond to changing consumer expectations around sustainability and convenience.
