Mutag acquires Alpha Aqua IP rights to expand water treatment portfolio.
Mutag has entered into a strategic agreement to acquire the intellectual property rights to Alpha Aqua and its product portfolio, in a move the company says underpins its growth strategy in advanced water treatment.
The transaction broadens Mutag’s offering beyond its core bio media production to include prefabricated filtration solutions and skid-based utility systems. The company will continue to focus on component deliveries while developing support systems for larger recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facilities, aiming to provide more flexible solutions for both existing and new customers.
Alpha Aqua’s installed base will be supported through service, maintenance, upgrades and complete system solutions under Mutag’s ownership.
Jesper W. N. Nielsen, chief business development officer at Mutag, said: “Acquiring Alpha Aqua’s IP rights is an important step towards delivering integrated solutions to our customers. We look forward to combining our expertise with Alpha Aqua’s technology to create innovative and scalable solutions.”
Mutag said the acquisition reinforces its positioning as a supplier of advanced water treatment components and support services rather than turnkey systems.
