New multi-protein food group now called Eight Fifty Food Group.
In a press release, CEO Di Walker unveiled Eight Fifty Food Group as the new name for the multi-protein food group comprising Karro Food Group and Young’s Seafood.
Eight Fifty Food Group, which has sales of circa £1.2 billion, was created through Karro’sacquisition of Young’s Seafood Limited in July 2019, as part of a plan to create a multi-protein food business.
Announcing the new name for the Group, Di Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Eight Fifty Food Group, said:
“Our new name was co-created with colleagues from across the Karro and Young’s businesses and stems from there being approximately 850 acres in one square nautical mile and as such represents the unity of land and sea and the two important protein categories that make up our business.”
“It also reflects the coming together of Karro and Young’s into a new Group and our ambitious plans to grow the two businesses, as well as pursuing further growth in protein food categories currently experiencing significant growth.”
Karro and Young’s continue to operate as two separate businesses within Eight Fifty Food Group.
