Nofima names new director for its aquaculture division

Linn Anne Bjelland Brunborg has been appointed Director of the Aquaculture Division at Norwegian research institute Nofima.

She joins Nofima from her role as Managing Director at Orkla Ocean and will assume her new role on January 1st, the organisation announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Nofima CEO Bente Torstensen expressed her satisfaction in welcoming Bjelland Brunborg to the organisation, emphasising the importance of close ties between applied research institutes and the business sector.

Bjelland Brunborg’s educational background is in human nutrition from the University of Bergen. She bgean her career began as a researcher at Nifes in Bergen, followed by roles at Norgesmøllene before she joined Orkla in 2012.

During her time at Orkla, she held several key positions and served as Managing Director of Orkla Ocean for the past three years.

Commenting on her new role, Bjelland Brunborg expressed her commitment to leveraging research results to drive transformation, aligning with Nofima’s vision of sustainable food for all.

Bjelland Brunborg will be based at Nofima’s Ås office in Norway.
