BioMar Norway receives ASC Feed certification ahead of October deadline.

BioMar’s feed production facilities in Myre and Karmøy, Norway, have been certified under the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Feed Standard.

The certification enables BioMar to supply ASC-compliant feed to Norwegian salmon farmers ahead of the new ASC requirement coming into force in October 2025. From that date, farms seeking ASC certification must use feed produced at certified facilities.

The audits, conducted in early 2025, assessed both sites’ procurement systems, traceability, and operational compliance with the ASC Feed Standard. BioMar Norway joins the company’s other certified facilities in Ecuador, Chile, the UK, and Costa Rica.

BioMar Managing Director Håvard Jørgensen said the certification was the result of long-term efforts to align feed production with environmental and social requirements.

The ASC Feed Standard was launched in 2021 to address sourcing, production practices, and supply chain transparency in aquaculture feed manufacturing.
