Norway’s largest lender to business has stepped up its issuance of loans to seafood companies

Oslo-based DNB increased its lending to fisheries and aquaculture companies by 20 percent between 2016 and 2017, the bank’s annual report shows.

The company upped its lending to the business segment “seafood” from EUR 1.75 billion to EUR 2.1 between 2016 and 2017.

Nordea and DNB are the world’s largest loans issuers to fisheries and aquaculture.

In all, DNB’s loans portfolio comprises some EUR 159.2 billion. Its largest customer group consists of private borrowers that account for half of its lending portfolio.
