Oldervik Fiskeindustri has acquired Royal Greenland Seafood’s 49% stake in Øksfjord Eiendom, taking full ownership of the property company behind a key industrial site in Øksfjord, Finnmark.

The transaction follows Royal Greenland’s decision to close its salmon processing operation in the village at the end of April. The facility, established in 2021, housed two salmon filleting lines and was subsequently put up for sale.

Oldervik Fiskeindustri previously owned 51% of Øksfjord Eiendom and now becomes sole owner.

Chief executive Hans Ivar Pedersen described the acquisition as an important strategic move that would provide greater flexibility to maintain existing operations, strengthen receiving capacity and support future industrial development.

Oldervik Fiskeindustri acquired Øksfjord Fiskeindustri in 2019 and has since become a significant processor and receiver of whitefish in northern Norway. The company said full ownership of the site would strengthen the foundation for further fisheries and seafood-related activity in western Finnmark.
