Singer-actor Lee Jin-hyuk is to appear in Netflix salmon farming drama “Billionaire Island” later this year.

South Korean idol Lee Jin-hyuk, formerly known as Wei, is set to make a return to acting with an appearance on the Netflix salmon farming drama “Billionaire Island”.

Lee, born Lee Sung-joon on June 8, 1996, initially gained recognition as a member of the boy band UP10TION in 2015. He has more than two million fans spread across various social media accounts.

His uncredited appearance in the trailer for the Norwegian salmon farming drama was swiftly spotted by fans who left numerous excited comments in the thread below the trailer on YouTube and Instagram.

Lee’s popularity soared after ranking 14th on “Produce X 101” in 2019, leading to his solo debut as a singer and rapper with the release of his first extended single, “S.O.L”.

His acting debut in the drama “Find Me in Your Memory” earned him a nomination for the MBC Drama Awards in the Best New Actor category. Following this success, he secured a role in the upcoming KBS2 drama “Dear. M” as Gil Mok-jin.

In 2022, Lee joined the Weverse platform and appeared in the SBS drama “Why Her”.

His involvement in “Billionaire Island” marks a significant milestone in his acting career, signalling his return to the screen, and is sure to guarantee the Netflix production a rousing reception from his devoted followers.
