Seafood processing technology supplier Optimar has appointed Petur Jakob Petursson as chief commercial officer and Lárus Gunnarsson as director of commercial operations.
The company also named Jannicke Valderhaug as chief marketing officer.
Petursson joined Optimar in September 2024 as director of sales for Asia. He previously worked in fisheries, seafood processing, aquaculture technology and international B2B sales, and will now take responsibility for the company’s global commercial activities.
Gunnarsson joins Optimar from Icelandic telecommunications company Síminn, where he most recently served as director of business development and product management. He will oversee commercial operations across Optimar’s markets and business areas.
Chief executive Siggi Ólason said the appointments form part of a broader effort to strengthen the company’s commercial organisation as it pursues further international growth.
Optimar, headquartered outside Ålesund, supplies equipment and processing systems to the seafood industry.
