Proximar reports stable performance and high survival in Q4.
Proximar Seafood reported a standing biomass of 1,933 tonnes at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, up from 1,389 tonnes at the end of the previous quarter, according to its latest production update.
The Norwegian land-based salmon farmer, Proximar Seafood, harvested 339 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) during the quarter, bringing total harvest volume for 2025 to approximately 1,338 tonnes HOG. Including harvested biomass of 409 tonnes live weight, gross biomass growth in the quarter amounted to 953 tonnes. Survival during the grow-out phase was reported at 99.7 per cent.
As of 31 December 2025, Proximar had 23 batches and around 2.2 million salmon in production at its Oyama facility in Japan. Growth in December was partly affected by around 3.5 days of zero feeding due to scheduled regulatory maintenance of the site’s electrical systems.
The average net sales price achieved in the fourth quarter was around NOK 61 per kilo, impacted by a higher share of smaller fish of around 3 kg. For fish above 3 kg, the company achieved an average net price of approximately NOK 104 per kilo, which it said represented a premium to imported Norwegian salmon during the period. The average harvested weight was around 2.11 kg HOG, with 98 per cent classified as superior quality.
“We are pleased to see the positive development through the quarter with stable performance and feeding levels now aligning with our production plan,” said Joachim Nielsen, adding that the company expects harvest sizes to increase as it moves into 2026.
The next production update will be included in Proximar’s fourth-quarter 2025 report, scheduled for release on 27 February 2026.
