He replaces Roger Bekken, who stepped down in April after almost seven years as COO.
SalMar has appointed Anders Fjellheim as its new Chief Operating Officer, the company confirmed in its Q1 2025 report published Tuesday.
Fjellheim brings over two decades of aquaculture experience to the role. He has served as managing director of SalMar Ocean since March 2025, following nearly three years as COO of SalMar Aker Ocean. Prior to that, he held executive roles at AquaGen and Marine Harvest, where he was Regional Manager for freshwater operations in the north of Norway.
Fjellheim also held various management positions earlier in his career at Lerøy Midnor and Midnor, and spent a year as a researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA). He holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
SalMar is one of the world’s largest producers of farmed Atlantic salmon, with headquarters in Trondheim and operations across Norway and internationally.
