Salmon Group makes two strategic hires to strengthen purchasing and communications.

Norwegian aquaculture network Salmon Group has announced two new appointments aimed at reinforcing its capabilities in procurement and stakeholder engagement.

Eirik Korshamn joins as purchasing controller, a newly created role, following completion of his master’s degree in economics and business administration at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). His academic focus has included business analytics and sustainable solutions in the maritime sector.

Magnus Brekke Nygaard has been appointed adviser for communications and public affairs. He previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Visit Bergen and has held a political advisory role at NHO.

The company said the hires follow strong interest in both roles, with close to 200 applicants across the two positions. CEO Jan Olav Langeland described the appointments as part of Salmon Group’s efforts to professionalise operations and strengthen its public voice.

Korshamn will take up his role on 11 August. Nygaard is set to begin on 1 October.
