Salmones Camanchaca guides harvest of 46,000 tons for 2023

Salmones Camanchaca has recorded the sale of approximately 12,000 tons of Atlantic salmon for the third quarter. 

Chilean salmon farming firm, Salmones Camanchaca, has unveiled its harvest data for the third quarter of 2023. In this period, the company reported a total harvest volume of approximately 17,760 metric tons. The breakdown of these figures is as follows:

The harvest was exclusively comprised of Atlantic salmon, amounting to the entire 17,760 tons, with an average weight of 5.5 kilograms. Notably, the ex-cage cost for Atlantic salmon was reported at $5.04 per kilogram in whole fish equivalent (WFE).

During the third quarter of 2023, no harvest activity was reported for Coho salmon.

In terms of sales, Salmones Camanchaca recorded the distribution of approximately 12,000 tons of Atlantic salmon and 500 tons of Coho salmon throughout Q3 2023.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2023, the company has offered harvest projections:

  • The Atlantic salmon harvest is estimated to range between 44,000 and 46,000 tons.
  • For Coho salmon, the forecast for the 2023 season anticipates a yield of between 11,000 and 13,000 tons, which includes an expected harvest of 3,000 tons in January 2024.
