Gunvar Wie to join Seaborn as marketing director.
Gunvar Wie will leave his position at the Norwegian Seafood Council to become marketing director at Bergen-based exporter Seaborn from 1 August.
Wie has held several roles during his ten years at the Seafood Council, most recently as manager for global operations with overarching responsibility for the conventional seafood sector.
“I’m now going from working for the industry to working in the industry,” Wie said in a statement. “It’s been a privilege to collaborate with so many dedicated people across the value chain, and I look forward to joining the team at Seaborn and getting to know the owners—local, family-owned aquaculture companies.”
Seaborn was established in 2001 by a group of family-run fish farming companies and today sources from 54 locations along the west coast of Norway and in Lofoten.
Commercial director Frank Yri welcomed the appointment, saying Wie would help support Seaborn’s continued growth and strategic goals.
