Skretting appoints Maarten Bijl as CEO as van Tilburg moves to Nutreco.

Skretting has named Maarten Bijl as chief executive, succeeding Bastiaan van Tilburg, who will become CEO of parent company Nutreco.

Bijl joined Nutreco in 2021 as managing director for Trouw Nutrition North America. Since June 2024 he has served as Nutreco’s chief digital officer and a member of the management board, leading a group-wide digital transformation aimed at accelerating growth at Skretting and Trouw Nutrition through new technology and data use.

“I am greatly honoured to have the opportunity to lead and support the Skretting team. Over my last 4.5 years in Nutreco, I’ve gotten to know the Skretting business well through many positive interactions with our employees and customers. The Skretting brand stands out for its continuous innovation, its focus on people and partnerships, and its commitment to making the industry more sustainable. I look forward to continuing to work with our teams and customers around the world as we strive to be the number one nutritional solutions provider within aquaculture,” says Maarten.

Before Nutreco, Bijl spent 12 years at SHV in strategy, commercial management and regional general management roles in Europe and Asia. He previously held global commercial and corporate strategy roles at TNT NV, now FedEx. He holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an Executive MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.

“I am very thankful to the Skretting team for the progress we’ve made together and happy that we have strong, internal succession in place with Maarten,” says Bastiaan. “The change in leadership does not reflect a change in strategy, and Skretting customers and partners everywhere can expect continuity and the same spirit of dedication, service, and collaboration.”
