Salmon price expected to remain stable as export value rises 9%.
Norwegian salmon spot prices are expected to remain broadly stable this week. Prices for superior 3–6kg fish are estimated at around EUR 7.77 (USD 8.95) per kilo, unchanged week on week, reflecting a balance between post-Easter seasonal demand patterns and continued strong supply, according to seafood analysts.
The current week’s price level is also estimated at approximately EUR 7.77 (USD 8.95), leaving the near-term outlook largely unchanged.
Week 13 export volumes were up about 4% year on year on top of a high comparison base. Despite the higher supply, prices still increased on an annual comparison, supported by seasonal demand ahead of Easter.
The four-week rolling value of Norwegian salmon exports is now up roughly 9% year on year, indicating improving demand and easing supply pressure from competing regions, analysts said.
One major producer reported first-quarter harvest volumes of 31,300 tonnes, exceeding guidance by 4,100 tonnes after strong biological performance in the Faroe Islands, where volumes came in 18% above expectations.
