Norwegian seafood advisory company Inaq has appointed Erik Skontorp Hognes as a Senior Advisor focusing on sustainability, effective from March 1.

Hognes joins Inaq from his previous role as an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) advisor at Aker Carbon Capture, according to an update on LinkedIn.

With over 15 years of experience in enhancing sustainability within the Norwegian industry, Hognes has extensive experience as a researcher and consultant, particularly in environmental accounting and sustainability management.

During his tenure at Sintef Ocean, a leading research organization, Hognes contributed to the development of climate accounting for Norwegian seafood products. His expertise covers climate and sustainability reporting for various organizations and products.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, Nina Santi, the General Manager of Inaq, highlighted Hognes’ expertise in climate and sustainability reporting as key to the hire.

“This is a new competence that Inaq can offer its customers, and Erik has considerable capacity in the field. He has carried out climate and sustainability reporting for both organizations and products, and will be able to help companies within aquaculture, fisheries and suppliers,” said Santi.

Hognes, commenting on his new role, emphasized the growing need for seafood companies to enhance their capabilities in sustainability management and expressed his desire to contribute significantly in this area.
