Norway exported 6,484 tonnes of trout worth NOK 540 million (€50.2 million) in May, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Export value fell by NOK 47 million (€4.4 million), or 8%, compared with the same month last year, while export volume declined 11%.

The United States, Ukraine and Poland were the largest markets for Norwegian trout during the month.

Poland recorded the strongest growth in value, with exports rising by NOK 27 million (€2.5 million), or 62%, year-on-year.

Export volume to Poland reached 910 tonnes, up 50% from May 2025.

Despite the growth in Poland, overall trout exports declined in both value and volume compared with the same period last year.
