Underwater Contracting expands fleet with new Saab Seaeye Falcons

Scottish aquaculture supplier Underwater Contracting Ltd (UCO) has announced the addition of five new Saab Seaeye Falcons to its fleet.

The expansion marks a positive start to 2024 for the company, known for its expertise in fish farming ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) services.

In a post on LinkedIn, Managing Director Michael Bower, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, stating that the additional systems will enable the company to meet the increasing demand and fulfill the requirements of several major new contracts acquired in recent months.

Bower emphasized the company’s commitment to customer service, highlighting their substantial investment in spare parts and auxiliary equipment for the Falcons.

“Adding these additional systems to our fleet will enable us to respond to the upsurge in business and the major new contracts we have won in recent months,” he said.

The company’s investment extends beyond the ROVs themselves. Over £250,000 has been allocated for dedicated Saab Seaeye Falcon spares, and an additional £350,000 for auxiliary equipment.

“We have also made significant investment in adding to our stock of in spares and auxiliary equipment for the Falcons, so we can respond immediately to any issues or additional requirements that might arise during the delivery of our services for existing and new clients. Having these items to hand when we need them, avoids unnecessary delays for our clients,” said Bower.

UCO boasts the world’s largest fleet of Saab Seaeye Falcons, having purchased a total of 38 Falcon systems since their market entry in 2017.

In 2022, the company signed a multi-million-pound deal with the world’s largest salmon farmer, Mowi covering Europe and North America.
