Dutch seafood processor Visscher Seafood Group has strengthened its advisory board with the appointment of two industry veterans.

Patrice Flanagan, with over 35 years in the seafood industry, brings experience from her tenure at Slade Gorton, as well as various board and consulting roles within the sector, including at Atlantic Sapphire.

Her deep understanding of seafood distribution is anticipated to assist Visscher Seafood Group in identifying growth opportunities, particularly in the US market.

Arjan Both has a substantial background in retail and consumer goods, having held key positions at notable companies such as Ahold, Unilever, and Walmart. His expertise in global food sourcing strategies is expected to be advantageous for Visscher Seafood Group as it expands its reach and product offerings within the global retail market.

Tim Brouwer, CEO of Visscher Seafood Group, expressed confidence in their contributions, stating, “Their impressive track records and profound knowledge of the industry will provide invaluable guidance on our path to growth.”

Visscher Seafood Group has undergone rapid growth in recent years, handling over 50,000 metric tons of salmon worldwide. In 2019, the company introduced Varlaks, a premium salmon brand farmed in chemical-free, antibiotic-free, and additive-free conditions above the arctic circle. The following year, Visscher acquired a controlling interest in Scottish salmon farming company Organic Sea Harvest.
