Huon Aquaculture names new CEO.

JBS has appointed Charles von der Heyde as the new chief executive of its Australian salmon farming subsidiary, Huon Aquaculture.

Von der Heyde, formerly president of Pilgrim’s Mexico, takes over the role following the departure of Henry Batista earlier this year. Batista, whose family founded JBS, has since taken a new position within the group as brands and snacking director at Pilgrim’s Europe.

JBS acquired Huon Aquaculture in 2021 in a move to expand its footprint into seafood. Huon is one of Australia’s largest salmon producers, operating marine and land-based sites including the Whale Point facility in southern Tasmania.
