Norwegian wellboat company Frøy has appointed Petter Jønvik as its new Head of Sustainability, according to a press release.
Jønvik brings over 15 years of experience in sustainability work, having held management positions at companies such as the Wilhelmsen group and Statnett. He holds a degree in civil engineering from NTNU.
“I have been fortunate to work in companies that take sustainability seriously and invest in it. In both Wilhelmsen and Statnett, I was involved in building sustainability strategically and operationally,” said Jønvik.
Jønvik will join the group management team at Frøy. He noted that the approach to sustainability has evolved significantly since he started at Wilhelmsen in 2006. “Sustainability work used to be seen as part of social responsibility and voluntary. Now, it requires commitments, target achievements, and detailed reporting,” he added.
Jønvik emphasized that the demands from authorities, owners, investors, and banks have increased and will continue to do so. “We aim to position Frøy as a leader in sustainability and contribute to sustainable growth in the industry,” he stated.
