Workboat builder names Altera veteran as new CEO

Lilliestråle will begin work March 1, 2024.

Norwegian workboat supplier Moen Marin has announced Bernt Lilliestråle as the company’s new CEO.

Lilliestråle, with a distinguished 25-year career at Altera/Teekay, enjoys extensive experience having served in a number of leadership roles across Canada, Norway, and Asia.

Educated at NTNU with a Master in Technology Management, Lilliestråle most recently served as Vice President, Project Definition & Contracting at Altera Infrastructure in Trondheim.

In addition to his technical and leadership expertise, Bernt Lilliestråle brings a wealth of experience from the offshore and marine industry, particularly in senior leadership roles.

“I am particularly motivated by a customer-focused approach, development of sustainable solutions and good teamwork,” said Lilliestråle.

ScaleAQ employes about 900 staff spread over offices in Norway, Scotland, Iceland, Canada, Tasmania, Chile, Poland and Vietnam.

The company was born out of a merger between equipment and supply giants Aqualine, Steinsvik and Moen Marin.

“We are really looking forward to having Bernt on board and are excited about his competence and his leadership qualities. We believe that he will contribute to strengthening the company further,” said incoming chairman of Moen Marin Svein Vestermo.
