A man in his 40s has died of the injuries he suffered in an accident aboard the “Rohav” wellboat. The boat is owned by the shipping company Rostein.
The company said that they were grieving.’ We are simply broken” said Glen Bradley, Rostein deputy managing director talking the news site Nordlys.
He said that the man, who is from Sortland, Northern Norway had ben working at the company for several years and was an experienced employee.
“Our thoughts go first and foremost to the family, those who have lost their loved one. Everyone who works in Rostein has heavy heart today,” added Bradley.
The vessel “Rohav” was in the Bergsfjorden, Senja, Northern Norway area when the accident happened Monday afternoon. The man was declared dead on the boat when health personnel came onboard.
The country’s Police and Marine Commission for Maritime Affairs have conducted interrogations and investigations on board the boat to clarify the cause of death.
