Seafood Expo Global 2025 opens in Barcelona as SalmonBusiness reports live.
The 31st edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global opened on Tuesday at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, bringing together 2,187 exhibitors from 87 countries. The event, which runs from 6–8 May, is expected to generate over €156 million in economic impact for the city and remains the world’s largest seafood trade event by exhibitor count and floor space.
Organised by Diversified Communications, this year’s edition features 68 national and regional pavilions, including first-time representation from countries such as Nigeria, Greenland, and Sri Lanka. Major players including Mowi, SalMar, Cermaq, AquaChile, and Royal Greenland are among the exhibitors.
The exhibition is accompanied by a conference programme featuring more than 80 international speakers. Economist Xavier Sala-i-Martin of Columbia University will deliver the keynote address on 7 May.
