Trident Aqua Services orders fourth service vessel in series from Sletta Verft.

Norwegian aquaculture service company Trident Aqua Services has contracted a new 20-metre service vessel from Sletta Verft as part of an ongoing fleet expansion.

The vessel will be the fourth in an established series operated by the company and continues a design concept previously delivered by the yard. The vessel has been designed by Solstrand Trading and is intended for a range of aquaculture support tasks including service work, transport and towing.

The newbuild will feature electric propulsion and a 1,500 kWh battery pack aimed at improving energy efficiency. It will have a deck cargo capacity of 100 tonnes and a bollard pull of 15 tonnes.

“For us, this is about more than just a new vessel. It is about continuing to build on solutions we know work well in practice,” said CEO Arild Aasmyr.

The vessel will be the 18th built by Sletta Verft for Trident Aqua Services and will join the same series as Multi Storfjord, Multi Challenger and Multi Frontier. Electrical and battery systems will be supplied by Frydenbø Elmarin.

Trident Aqua Services was formed through the merger of AquaShip, Intership and FSV Group and is majority-owned by American Industrial Partners. The company employs around 1,000 people and provides maritime services to fish farming companies in Norway, Chile, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and the Faroe Islands under long-term contracts.
