Cflow wins RAS contract in Chile.
Norwegian aquaculture supplier Cflow has signed a contract to deliver a modular RAS unit in Chile, targeting the country’s growing smolt and post-smolt production sector. The contract supports Cflow’s strategy to expand standardised, scalable RAS modules into major international salmon markets, according to a post from the company on LinkedIn.
The system operates in both reduced-flow and full recirculation modes. It includes mechanical filtration, biofiltration, degassing, and advanced temperature control.
A core component is Cflow’s vacuum degassers, designed to keep CO₂ levels between 3–5 mg/L and total dissolved gas below 90% saturation. The company says suspended solids remain below 3 mg/L and turbidity below 1 NTU.
Process monitoring runs through Cflow’s C-Evolution platform, which tracks water quality, gas levels, temperature, energy use, and hydraulic loads in real time.
Chile’s RAS expansion
Chile’s smolt and post-smolt sector is under pressure to improve biosecurity, water quality stability, and production consistency. The project involved collaboration between Norwegian and Chilean engineers. Cflow said it has built local engineering expertise with site-specific knowledge, which Hoff described as a long-standing market need.
Engineering work is well advanced and module production is underway. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
Chile’s land-based production sector is expanding ahead of tightening biosecurity requirements. How quickly Chilean operators adopt full RAS at scale will depend on capital costs and the performance data emerging from projects like this one.
