Norwegian salmon farmer Eide has appointed Arne Herre Staveland as chief biological officer.

Staveland joined the company in May after more than nine years with Mowi, where he most recently served as RAS specialist. He previously held roles as fish health manager and sea production manager.

The appointment marks a return to Eide for Staveland, who worked as sea production manager at the company between 2011 and 2016.

A trained veterinarian, Staveland also spent almost four years as a researcher and aquaculture consultant with Rådgivende Biologer before joining Eide for the first time.

Eide is developing post-smolt and closed-containment production systems and has positioned fish welfare and biological performance as central elements of its growth strategy.
