Former Mowi exec named COO at land-based salmon farmer

Florida-based land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire has announced the appointment of Mario Palma as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Currently serving as the Director of Aquaculture Engineering, Palma brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

With eight years of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) experience gained at companies like Mowi prior to joining Atlantic Sapphire in 2017, Palma has been involved in the company’s US project from its inception.

His 14 years of technical and operational expertise will be instrumental in managing the facility as Atlantic Sapphire transitions into an industrial phase.

The Board of Directors has welcomed Palma’s acceptance of this position, and he will assume his new role immediately. Jon-Birger Løvik will take on a different role within the Company.
