AqKva has acquired full ownership of aquaculture trade fair HavExpo after purchasing the ownership stake held by Sotra Sportsklubb.
HavExpo, held on Sotra outside Bergen, was originally established as a joint venture between AqKva and the sports club.
“The collaboration has worked very well, but AqKva is now purchasing Sotra Sportsklubb’s ownership share as part of the further development and strengthening of both AqKva and HavExpo,” the company said in a press release published Wednesday.
Board member and organiser Vidar Onarheim said the acquisition would strengthen AqKva’s ability to further develop the exhibition.
“We see significant potential in consolidating expertise and activities, while strengthening the offering for exhibitors, visitors and conference participants,” Onarheim said.
HavExpo has now been held three times, most recently this month. According to the company, this year’s event was fully booked and approximately 30% larger than the previous exhibition held in 2024.
AqKva was established in 2004 and organises conferences for the aquaculture industry. The company also holds a majority stake in aquaculture event venture Global Aqua.
