Lerøy: harvest falls 8.5% as Aurora volumes drop sharply

Lerøy Seafood Group harvested 44,750 tonnes gutted weight of salmon and trout in the second quarter of 2026, down 8.5 percent from 48,900 tonnes in the same period last year, according to a trading update published on Friday.

The figures exclude harvested volume from Scottish Sea Farms.

The decline was driven primarily by Lerøy Aurora, where harvest volumes fell to 7,100 tonnes from 11,100 tonnes a year earlier, a decrease of around 36 percent.

That was partly offset by stronger production at Lerøy Midt, which harvested 19,700 tonnes in the quarter, up from 16,900 tonnes in the corresponding period of 2025.

Lerøy Sjøtroll harvested 18,000 tonnes, down from 20,900 tonnes a year earlier. Of the total, 10,400 tonnes was trout, compared with 9,800 tonnes in the second quarter of 2025.

Taken together, the weaker performance in Aurora and Sjøtroll more than offset higher harvest volumes at Midt, resulting in the group’s lower year-on-year harvest.

Lerøy Aurora is the group’s northern Norwegian farming division, operating across Troms and Finnmark. As one of Lerøy’s largest production regions, a sharp reduction in Aurora’s harvest volumes had a disproportionate impact on the group’s overall second-quarter harvest.
