Norway exported 5,100 tonnes of trout worth NOK 512 million (€46.1 million) in March, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Export value fell by NOK 33 million (€3.0 million), or 6 percent, compared with the same month last year, while export volumes declined 15 percent year on year.

Trout remains a significantly smaller export category than salmon in Norway’s aquaculture sector and is primarily sold as fresh whole fish to markets in Asia and Eastern Europe.
