Pharmaq has joined Salmon Living Lab as its seventh partner, expanding the consortium’s expertise in fish health, vaccines and medical technology.
The innovation and research initiative was established in 2024 by SalMar and Cargill. Other partners include the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NORCE, Norwegian Veterinary Institute and Nofima.
According to Salmon Living Lab, the partnership with Pharmaq will focus on fish health research, vaccine development, diagnostics and data-driven insight through a series of joint research and innovation projects.
The partners plan to develop a shared global R&D strategy during 2026–2027, which will be made publicly available. The collaboration will also work on a multi-year project portfolio and identify requirements for research and testing infrastructure, including full-scale sea-based trials.
Salmon Living Lab said the addition of Pharmaq broadens the collaboration across farming, feed, academia, research and fish health.
