Salmon Evolution said phase 2 of its Indre Harøy facility has been taken into operation, with the first smolt release now completed.

The company said the smolt had adapted well following transfer, feeding had commenced, and operational parameters were stable and in line with expectations.

Including phase 2 capacity, Salmon Evolution plans to release around 2.8 million smolt at Indre Harøy in 2026, representing an increase of approximately 60% from 2025.

When fully completed, phase 2 is expected to more than double production capacity at Indre Harøy.

Chief executive Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen said the expansion was a significant step for the company.

“Phase 2 builds on four years of operational experience from phase 1, and combined phases 1 and 2 provides scale and represents an unmatched operational platform in sustainable, land-based salmon farming, unlocking strong expected cash flow generation and a full transformation of Salmon Evolution’s earnings capacity,” he said.

Salmon Evolution is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker SALME.
