Salmon producer signs deal with Optimar to triple its harvest capacity

Vikenco’s capacity set to rocket from 40,000 metric tons per year to 120,000 tons per year. 

Norwegian equipment supplier Optimar and salmon farmer Vikenco’s have signed a deal that will triple the producer’s harvest capacity on Rindarøya, the companies announced on Monday.

Hans Owen Thunem, Vice President Sales Aqua at Optimar, expressed pride in being chosen as the supplier for Vikenco’s expansion project. He stated, “This will be a world-leading processing facility,” highlighting Optimar’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to the industry.

Jonny Småge, COO at Vikenco, emphasized the importance of strong partnerships in achieving success in fish processing. He praised Optimar’s contributions, stating, “We achieve both high quality and good fish welfare with the new slaughter lines.” This collaboration fills Vikenco with confidence as they aim to reach new heights in the seafood market.
