Chilean salmon farmer Ventisqueros has published its 2025 ESG report, highlighting progress on emissions reduction, waste recovery, workplace safety and international sustainability certifications.
The company said 100% of its harvested biomass was certified under both the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) standards for a second consecutive year.
Ventisqueros also reported a 30% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared with 2019 levels as it works toward a carbon neutrality target by 2045.
On waste management, the company said it recovered or recycled 99% of operational waste through its Zero Waste to Landfill programme, while also revalidating its ISO 50001 energy management certification during the year.
The company reported an 84% reduction in workplace accidents compared with 2015, describing the result as one of its strongest safety performances of the past decade.
Ventisqueros also cited recognition in the 2025 SSIndex customer survey, where it ranked among the industry’s top 25 companies and said 95% of customers rated its product quality positively.
The report highlighted a number of community initiatives, including an entrepreneurship fund supporting 30 businesses in southern Chile and an environmental education programme that reached more than 1,900 students and 200 teachers.
“Each advance we present is the result of our teams’ commitment and a long-term vision that seeks to generate value for customers, employees, communities and the environment,” CEO José Luis Vial said in a statement.
