Arctic Fish Holding director Gunnar Atli Gunnarsson has resigned from the board with immediate effect due to other work commitments.
The Icelandic salmon farmer disclosed the departure in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday.
“The board of directors extends its gratitude to Gunnar Atli for his service and contributions over the past years,” the company said.
Gunnarsson joined the board in November 2023, shortly after Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi secured control of the company through a voluntary takeover offer.
Arctic Fish is one of Iceland’s largest salmon farming companies, operating across several fjords in the country’s Westfjords region. The company holds licences with a combined production capacity of 29,800 tonnes and operates a processing plant in Bolungarvík.
Iceland has emerged as one of the fastest-growing salmon producing regions in the North Atlantic over the past decade, attracting investment from major Norwegian farmers seeking new production opportunities outside Norway’s tightly regulated farming areas.
Mowi remains Arctic Fish’s largest shareholder, holding 51.28% of the company.
The company did not announce a replacement for Gunnarsson.
