Mowi-controlled Icelandic salmon farmer Arctic Fish reported record first-quarter harvest volumes and raised its full-year harvest guidance following stronger-than-expected biological performance.
Harvest volumes reached an all-time high of 6,029 tonnes in Q1 2026, up 92% from 3,140 tonnes in the same period last year, according to the company’s quarterly update published Wednesday.
The Icelandic salmon farmer increased its 2026 harvest guidance to 18,000 tonnes, representing expected growth of 22% year-on-year.
Arctic Fish said standing biomass at the end of the quarter was 13,716 tonnes, 21% higher than the same period in 2025, supported by stronger biological performance.
Operational EBIT increased to €0.33 per kilogram from €0.16 per kilogram a year earlier, which the company attributed to lower cost levels despite weaker price achievement year-on-year.
The company said cost reduction measures remain a priority going forward.
Arctic Fish operates salmon farming licences across five fjords in Iceland’s Westfjords region with total production capacity of 29,800 tonnes maximum allowed biomass (MAB). Its operations include RAS smolt production, seawater farming sites and a recently completed harvesting facility.
