“I’ve dedicated my life to staying healthy to perform at the highest level, and seafood has always been part of my diet,” says Haaland.

Norwegian soccer superstar Erling Braut Haaland, has announced his partnership with Seafood Norway on Instagram to his 38.6 million followers.

“Norwegian seafood has a story closely tied to my country’s heart,” wrote the Manchester City goal machine. “The cold waters of Norway are rough but rewarding; they are the foundation for creating world-class seafood.”

This partnership with Norway’s Seafood Council was revealed before Easter and is set to last for the next 2.5 years.

“I’ve dedicated my life to staying healthy to perform at the highest level, and seafood has always been part of my diet,” continued Haaland. “I look forward to working closely with the great people managing one of my home country’s biggest exports.”

Marketing director at Norway’s Seafood Council, Camilla Beck, emphasized the potential impact of Haaland’s endorsement, calling for the post to be shared as widely as possible to maximize its impact.

“Erling Braut Haaland is a superstar who reaches out with his messages to many people. The reasoning for why he will now front Norwegian seafood will therefore reach millions of his followers all over the world,” said Beck.

The post comes during a relatively tough week for the treble-winning Norwegian star after he was criticised by pundits for his poor build-up play outside the box, in what was described as an ‘anonymous’ performance in a 3-3 draw with Spanish club Real Madrid.
