Hofseth International has appointed Olav Holst-Dyrnes as its new chief executive officer, with the leadership change expected to take effect in the third quarter of 2026.

Holst-Dyrnes brings extensive management experience from the seafood and industrial sectors. He holds a degree in engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and has also completed officer training at the Norwegian Military Academy.

He previously served as chief executive of the listed seafood group Havfisk from 2012 to 2014, now part of Lerøy Havfisk. From 2014 to 2020 he was CEO of furniture manufacturer Ekornes, known for the Stressless brand. During that period he also served on the board of Danish seafood company A. Espersen.

Since 2020, Holst-Dyrnes has worked as investment director at Kverva, the Witzøe family’s investment company and majority owner of salmon farmer SalMar. Kverva also owns seafood group Insula, where Holst-Dyrnes has previously served as CEO and currently chairs the board.

He is also chairman of the Norwegian Seafood Council and a board member at Ulstein and Havila Shipping.

Roger Hofseth, CEO and chief commercial officer of Hofseth International, said Holst-Dyrnes brings “extensive experience both from the seafood industry and from leading and developing companies through periods of growth and transformation.”

“With Olav as CEO I will spend more time on our commercial activities and market development as Chief Commercial Officer,” Hofseth said, including strengthening customer relationships, expanding the company’s product portfolio and further developing its IceFresh technology platform.

Holst-Dyrnes said he looks forward to leading the company in collaboration with Hofseth and the wider team.

“Hofseth has ambitions to grow significantly over the next five years, and I look forward to contributing to the realization of Roger Hofseth’s vision for the company,” he said.

Hofseth International is a vertically integrated seafood group focused on salmon farming and processing, operating across the value chain from smolt production to processing and global sales, with the United States, Europe and Asia among its key markets.
